We celebrate with the T&K team the achievement of the main goal of the ERC Consolidator project TORCH
The ERC Consolidator team celebrates with the Tresch + Kieliger Engineering team the first successful high-pressure tests of Plasma-Assisted-Combustion in a sequential combustor!
The demonstration of plasma-based thermoacoustic stabilization of a sequential combustor was the main objective of the external pageTORCH project. We see in the picture below the sequential combustor operated at 6 bars, with the plasma actuation (little violet discharge) upstream of the sequential flame in the Pele test rig.
The development from scratch of the Downloadhigh-pressure test rig Pele (PDF, 4.8 MB) and its infrastructure has been triggered by the ERC Consolidator Grant awarded to Nicolas. This successful development would not have been possible without the key contribution and expertise of Rudolf Tresch and his team.
