Staff of Professorship for Combustion and Acoustics for Power and Propulsion Systems
Stephan Caruso works at the ETH Zurich as lab manager for the laboratory of “Combustion and Acoustics for Power and Propulsion Systems” since October 2021. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Naples Federico II in 2011.
From 2009 to 2013 he worked at the ETH’s “Aerothermochemistry and Combustion Systems Laboratory” where he also contributed at the development of an innovative Biogas Micro Cogeneration Unit (micro-CHP) by leading a two-year project in collaboration with Motorex Oil of Switzerland.
He then worked until 2017 as a combustion testing specialist and project manager in the Gas Turbine research and development field of Alstom and GE. From 2017 and until 2021 he worked at Ansaldo Energia Switzerland where his main task was to manage the engineering and construction of a large new R&D test facility dedicated to test and validate gas turbine combustors.
