Zhenwei Xu
Student / Programme Doctorate at D-MAVT
Zhenwei completed his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and his M.Sc. in Robotics, Systems, and Control at ETH Zurich. His master’s thesis, conducted within the Nonlinear Dynamics group under the supervision of George Haller, and Filippo Coletti from the Institute of Fluid Dynamics, focused on reduced-order modeling of inverted flag dynamics in a water tunnel. Prior to joining CAPS, he also worked with George Haller and contributed to research on spectral submanifolds and reduced-order modelling. Zhenwei joined CAPS as a Ph.D. student in September 2024. His current research centers on acoustics and metamaterials, combining experimental investigations with theoretical modeling. He is focused on acoustic scattering experiments aimed at achieving perfect sound transmission in a lossless, real-time manner.
