Alexander started his Bachelor studies in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Sofia and consequently transferred to Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), graduating both with distinction and receiving the TU Sofia gold medal. He was awarded a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to continue with his Master studies at KIT, graduating with distinction and receiving the Redtenbacher-Preis (2022) of the Mechanical Engineering Department.

During his Master studies he was working as a student research assistant on the sensitivity analysis of wave propagation based methods for limited measurement approximation of the strain state in impacting rods. After completing his master thesis investigating the problem of optimal parametrization of invariant manifolds in systems of nonlinear differential equations he continued his work on the topic at the Institute of Engineering Mechanics (KIT) as a research assistant.

Alexander started started his PhD at CAPS laboratory in December 2022. His research focuses on investigating the dynamics of coupled combustion chambers. In particular, on the modeling of the coupling interface governing the interactions between adjacent cans at the outlet of can-annular combustor architectures, and on understanding of the physical effects arising due to those interactions, which in turn have the ability to cause undesired thermoacoustic instabilities.
