Guoqing completed his Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in July 2019 under the supervision of Professor Fei Qi. During his doctoral studies, he conducted in-depth studies of the chemical kinetics, flame propagation, flame dynamics, and thermoacoustic instability of spherical/swirling premixed flames using high-speed laser measurements.
In December 2019, he took up the role of a postdoctoral fellow at KAUST's clean combustion research center, under the guidance of professors Thibault F. Guiberti and William L. Roberts. His focus was on developing low-emission ammonia combustion technology for micro gas turbines. He established a comprehensive ammonia-hydrogen-nitrogen jet flame database through the utilization of newly developed quantitative NO laser-induced fluorescence along with conventional Raman spectroscopy, Rayleigh scattering, and particle image velocimetry.
In January 2023, Guoqing joined the CAPS laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher, currently engaged in characterizing the flame dynamics of hydrogen flames for the propulsion of future hydrogen-fueled combustors.
